On June 27, 2017 Sassboxx hosted an awesome event entitled SassBoss Link Up at the New Women Space in Brooklyn, NY! The event was a panel of four women (Scottie Beam, Taiia Young, and Robin J, and myself) moderated by Denequa Williams of LitBklyn. When I tell you it was EVERYTHING... it was everything!
Denequa jumped into the conversation asking each women why they decided to 'take the leap.' This first question set the stage for the remainder of the panel, with each woman approaching the question from a different perspective and defining 'taking the leap' in many different ways! For some taking the leap meant quitting their jobs, for others, it meant finding confidence in themselves to take action, but all in all - each woman experienced an opportunity to lay or leap, and we all chose the latter.
We also discussed inspirations, passions, and how we approach competition & collaboration. Family reigned as the number 1 inspiration, while competition vs. collaboration got a little sticky ...*Know the difference between inspiration, and thievery*!!
Below are a few pics from the event as well as a quick Q&A with Ms. SassBoss herself, Sapphira Martin!
