Gyrl Wonder: Mentoring Matters Event Recap

Gyrl Wonder Spiked Spin Mentoring Matters

Did you know that January is National Mentoring Month?!

To celebrate and kick-off such an important month, on January 14th, 2018 Gyrl Wonder hosted its inaugural “Mentoring Matters” program designed to excite, empower and encourage attendees via intimate conversation, and engaging breakout sessions! Our founder, Briana Owens, was there leading a few Entrepreneurship sessions.

The event was AMAZING!! There were young ladies from 3-18, and powerful women who were willing to lend their time, and knowledge to build the next generation!

The day started with a fireside chat from Tonya Rapley of My Fab Finance . She reminded all of the women that it is never too early, or too late to get your finances in order. The key to maintaining a healthy relationship with finances is to always find ways to make money, but most importantly, always to save money!

After the fireside chat, we broke out into small groups! Bri lead an emotional entrepreneurship conversations with two groups of fabulous women! There were no points off limits, and the ladies chatted about everything, from the importance of balancing time, following your passions, not being fooled by social media success, and people making money off the culture! The sessions were fueled by support, encouragement, and empowerment to live life boldy & confidently, The Spiked Way!

We provide and cultivate resources while teaching our girls how to leverage those tools to facilitate their personal and professional goals. The program targets forward thinking young women seeking to identify and explore their purpose through mentorship and objective alignment. #GWMENTORINGMATTERS
